Last weekend, we were lucky enough to be gifted tickets to attend Marwell Zoo! They currently have a special event running, #Brickosaurs, which are a selection of dinosaur models made out of Lego. To the mum of a toddler who loves both animals and dinosaurs, this seemed like the best day out!!!
Marwell Zoo is owned by a conservation charity and is home to hundreds of animals. These include: giraffes, monkeys, tigers, birds and many more! It’s grounds are huge with a train, several play parks and an onsite cafe. Located in Owslebury, it is just 10 miles away from Southampton so the journey took us around 25 minutes. Marwell is a brilliantly interactive zoo with several talks running throughout the day and lots for children to engage with around the park.
Our highlights of the park included:
The ‘Brickosaur’ event is currently running until the 1st September 2019 and it definitely adds to the day especially as it is included within your normal park ticket. There are now currently 50 Lego dinosaur models located around the park and children can find these using the maps provided or the locations can even be found on the Marwell app. There are also giant Lego brick pits, photo opportunities and face painting (subject to change.)
Overall, we had such a good day out and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who needs an idea for a good day out this summer holiday. Perfect for the whole family, Marwell is sure to entertain not only the kids but the adults too!!! What’s your favourite summer day out?
